Department Summary

  • Districtwide technology planning, implementation, support, and continuous improvement are guided to ensure reliable systems and effective digital tools across District 76. This includes oversight of network systems, devices, software platforms, classroom technology, student information systems, and other resources that support teaching, learning, communication, and district operations.

  • Secure technology practices help protect district systems, student information, staff data, and instructional resources. This includes cybersecurity awareness, responsible technology use, data privacy, account security, and safe access to digital learning environments.

  • Teachers and staff are supported in the meaningful integration of instructional technology. Through coaching, collaboration, and professional learning, staff learn to use digital tools to enhance instruction, personalize learning, improve student engagement, and support 21st century skills.

  • Professional development is coordinated in areas such as educational technology, digital communication, cybersecurity awareness, instructional platforms, productivity tools, and emerging technologies. These efforts build staff capacity and support effective, responsible, and confident technology use across the district.

  • Districtwide communication systems and digital platforms are managed to keep families, staff, students, and community members informed and connected. This includes the district website, social media, mass notification tools, newsletters, and other communication channels that provide clear, timely, accurate, and accessible information.

  • Consistent messaging, professional branding, positive storytelling, and transparent communication help strengthen the district’s public presence. This includes highlighting student success, staff accomplishments, school events, district initiatives, and the ongoing work of Diamond Lake School District 76.

  • Crisis and emergency communication planning supports district leadership during urgent situations, school disruptions, safety events, or other critical incidents. This work helps ensure that families, staff, and the community receive accurate, timely, and coordinated information when it matters most.

  • Equitable access to technology, digital resources, and communication tools is supported for students, families, and staff. This includes reducing barriers to participation, promoting accessible communication practices, and aligning technology resources with the needs of the district community.

  • Districtwide technology and communication committees are led and supported to promote collaboration, shared decision making, and alignment with district priorities. This work includes partnering with administrators, teachers, support staff, families, and community stakeholders to strengthen technology systems and communication practices.

  • Emerging trends in educational technology, communication, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital learning are monitored to help guide thoughtful planning and responsible implementation. This work prepares Diamond Lake School District 76 for future opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, student learning, and community trust.
