This week has been busy. We had a late start on Monday where we continued as a team to prepare for student led conferences this month on 3/21. Students will be presenting projects that they are excited about, and the reasons why they are so proud of them. IAR Continues next week, where we will be taking 2 sections of ELA Tuesday and Wednesday. Make ups will be Thursday and Friday. It is very important that all students take the IAR, as it helps us on our state report card, and gives us useful information to teach students in the ways they need to be taught.
This week was the first installment of our “College and Career Wednesdays.” We encourage students to wear clothing from their favorite Universities, High Schools, or Trade Schools. Thank you as always for the continued support and care for your students, we are seeing growth each and every day!
5 Essentials Reminder: The 5Essentials is an annual survey that helps us improve as a school, show what we are doing for the community and recognize the areas we are succeeding in. It is very important that we have family input in this survey, so that we know what to continue, and what to change. We are up to 18% which is AMAZING! IAR: The IAR or “Illinois Assessment of Readiness'' will continue Tuesday with testing for Reading and Language Arts, this week. ELA includes 2 sections. Testing days are March 12th and 13th. Make up days will happen on Thursday and Friday of this upcoming week.
Student Led Conferences: This Month, on 3/21 from 12:30-7:30, we will be hosting Student Led Conferences. The link to sign up for a time slot can be found HERE. Please keep in mind that teachers have a break for dinner at 5:30 pm. It is a long day for them, so we like to keep this time free and clear.
Summer Exploration: We are excited to announce that this summer, D76 summer school is going to look a bit different. We will host Summer Exploration classes, where students can pick learning opportunities that they are excited about. We believe that this increases passion for learning, and offers a fun experience over their summer break. HERE is the link to sign up, and for more information. Food Service: Each month our breakfast and lunch menus will be provided in our Family Communications as well as posted on our website. Click HERE for the breakfast menu and HERE for the lunch menu.
Medication Authorization Form: If your child needs to take medication of any kind throughout the school day, in response to allergies, or under specific circumstances, families are required to complete the D76 Medical Authorization form. Portions of the form must be completed by your child’s physician. Click HERE to access the form. In addition to the completed form, families must provide the medication in its original container. Printed copies of the form are also available in our front office.
Innovation Learning:
Families looking for before and/or after school programming Innovation Learning provides these services up to five days a week. Here are the flyers in English/Spanish for more information.
Need Groceries?:
Summer Family Market distributions use a contactless drive-thru model with pre-packed groceries. No registration, ID, or documentation is needed. Food is distributed on a first-come first-served basis, while supplies last.

Esta semana ha estado ocupada. Tuvimos un comienzo tardío el lunes, donde continuamos como equipo para prepararnos para las conferencias dirigidas por estudiantes este mes el 21 de marzo. Los estudiantes presentarán proyectos que les entusiasmen, y las razones por las que están tan orgullosos de ellos. El examen IAR continúa la próxima semana, donde tomaremos 2 secciones de ELA martes y miércoles. Los maquillajes serán jueves y viernes. Es muy importante que todos los estudiantes tomen el IAR, ya que nos ayuda en nuestro reporte estatal, y nos da información útil para enseñar a los estudiantes en las formas que necesitan ser enseñados.
Esta semana fue la primera entrega de nuestros “Miércoles Universitarios y Profesionales”. Animamos a los estudiantes a usar ropa de sus universidades favoritas, escuelas secundarias o escuelas de comercio. Gracias como siempre por el continuo apoyo y cuidado de sus estudiantes, estamos viendo crecimiento cada día!
Recordatorio de 5 Essentials: 5Essentials es una encuesta anual que nos ayuda a mejorar como escuela, mostrar lo que estamos haciendo por la comunidad y reconocer las áreas en las que estamos teniendo éxito. IAR: El IAR o “Evaluación de Preparación de Illinois” continuará el martes con pruebas para Lectura y Artes del Lenguaje, esta semana. ELA incluye 2 secciones. Los días de prueba son el 12 y 13 de marzo. Los días de maquillaje sucederán el jueves y el viernes de esta próxima semana.
Conferencias dirigidas por estudiantes: Este mes, el 21 de marzo de 12:30-7:30, estaremos organizando conferencias dirigidas por estudiantes. Exploración de verano: Estamos muy contentos de anunciar que este verano, la escuela de verano D76 se verá un poco diferente. Organizaremos clases de Exploración de Verano, donde los estudiantes pueden elegir oportunidades de aprendizaje que les entusiasmen.
