Little Diamonds Early Learning Program

Diamond Lake School District 76 Little Diamonds Early Learning Program is a multi-aged preschool program that provides educational experiences for young children ages three to five years old who are residents of District 76 and identified as at-risk through a screening process. 


All students have an opportunity to play and learn together in an accepting and engaging environment using a developmentally-appropriate approach to instruction that emphasizes the process of learning through active, hands-on experiences. The program provides high quality enrichment experiences for our students.

Preschool Screenings

A child may participate in a preschool screening at Diamond Lake School if they will be turning 3 by the time that they would be enrolled in the program,  if they qualify and they live within the Diamond Lake School District 76 boundaries.

The screening process consists of:

  • Hearing/Vision

  • Speech/Language skills

  • Cognitive/Academic skills

  • Social/Emotional skills

  • Self-Help skills

  • Health history/Developmental skills

  • Brief parent interview

Preschool screenings are being held at Diamond Lake School on the following dates for the 2024-2025 school year:

  • October 7, 2024

  • December 2, 2024

  • February 3, 2025

  • May 5, 2025

On the day of the screening, please bring the following documentation:

  • Child’s birth certificate

  • Photo identification of parent/guardian (driver’s license, state-issued ID, Passport)

  • Proof of occupancy of residence in District 76 (lease agreement, mortgage coupon, bill of sale for residence, property tax bill)

  • Current bill will parent/guardian name and address (gas, electric, water, telephone)

  • Proof of income (Pay stubs, tax returns, W-2s, verification letter from employer)

    • If you receive benefits such as WIC, SNAP, TANF, SSI, Medicaid, proof of these can be used instead of income documentation
