Smile Dentist is Coming!!
Smile Dentist is coming to the West Oak Campus on May 10th, 2021. Please see this attached registration form for additional information.
Incoming 6th Grade Parent Orientation:
Please join Mr. Cunningham, Principal of WOMS, and Brandon Pedersen, Assistant Principal of WOMS, on May 11th as they give a virtual presentation for incoming 6th grade families about the schedule, what to expect, clubs, and what sports are available for 6th grade students. They will also have time to answer any questions you may have. The Spanish Presentation will be at 6:00pm, and the English Presentation will be at 7:00pm. They will send out the Zoom links next week.
Child Protection Lessons
In compliance with Erin’s Law, which was put in effect in February of 2011, all schools are required to teach children important skills about being safe from dangerous or abusive situations. Diamond lake School District uses curricular resources and lessons delivered by our classroom teachers and school social workers to teach these important skills. Beginning the week of May 3rd, each grade level will be learning skills to be safe that are age appropriate. A-Z Countdown!!
As we begin the final weeks of school, WOIS will begin our A-Z countdown to the last day of school this coming Thursday, April 29th. You can view the calendar here. When there are days that the activity or theme is only able to be facilitated by in person students, an alternate theme or activity will be provided for all remote learners. A-Z Schedule
Spring Assessment Schedule Update
We have several spring assessments to facilitate between now and the end of the year. Below is a list of the assessments, which students will be taking the assessment and start dates. Specific days and times for IAR, ISA and STAR will be communicated by your child’s teacher as we get closer to the start date. ACCESS and F&P are based on pull-out schedules throughout the testing window. The IAR and ISA assessments are administered to in person learners only. During those assessment times, remote students will be assigned asynchronous work. We have designed the schedule so that only part of the day is asynchronous for remote learners, and there will be a portion of live instruction each day of assessment.
Fountas & Pinnell (F&P) Reading Benchmark begins 4.12 (In Person and Remote)
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) begins 5.3 (In Person Learners Only)
STAR Reading and Math Benchmark Assessment begins 5.17
School Lunch
Hot lunch is offered to all District 76 students, free of charge. If your student would like hot lunch, it will be available each day, and you do not need to order it. If you would like to know what is being served, the Food Services web page is linked here. Just click on the drop down menu to view the monthly hot lunch menu. Curbside pick-up is from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Tuesday and Friday at the West Oak Campus.

The SEL Committee is excited to announce May's theme is all about healthy habits. Orientación para padres entrantes de sexto grado:

Lecciones De Proteccion de Menores

Cuenta Regresiva de A-Z

Habrá días en los que la actividad o el tema sólo podrán ser facilitados por estudiantes en persona, pero se proporcionará un tema o actividad alternativo para todos los estudiantes remotos. Actualización de calendario de la evaluación de Primavera
Tenemos varias evaluaciones de primavera para facilitar de aquí a finales de año. A continuación se muestra una lista de las evaluaciones y fechas de inicio que los estudiantes estarán tomando. Los días y horarios específicos para IAR, ISA y STAR serán comunicados por el maestro de su hijo(a) a medida que nos acerquemos a la fecha de inicio. ACCESS y F & P se basan en horarios de extracción en toda la ventana de pruebas. Las evaluaciones de IAR e ISA se administran únicamente a estudiantes en persona. Almuerzo De La Escuela
Se les ofrecerá almuerzo caliente a todos los estudiantes del distrito 76 de forma gratuita. Si su estudiante desea almuerzo caliente, estará disponible todos los días, y usted no necesita pedirlo. Si desea saber lo que se está sirviendo, la página web de Servicio De Comida está vinculada en este enlace . Simplemente haga clic en el menú desplegable para ver el menú mensual de almuerzo caliente. La recogida en la acera es de 11:00am a 1:00 pm los martes y viernes en el West Oak Campus.
