Dear Diamond Lake School (DLS) Families,
Our final weeks before Winter Break brought about unseasonably warm weather and great celebrations. Each grade level experienced our Operation Snowball Day (OSD), an opportunity to interact with students from multiple classrooms, engage in thought provoking conversations related to peer relationships and problem solving, create an atmosphere of kindness and respect, and learn that the things that make us different are what make us beautiful individuals. We are incredibly proud of our students for the support they showed for one another, the compliments they gave each other, their kind words, and the positive interactions through a variety of activities.
When we return from Winter Break on Monday, January 3rd, we ask that all students wear their tie dye shirts that they made on OSD in an effort to kick the new year with a positive attitude and to remind us how we must be kind to each other and treat each other with respect. If your child did not tie dye a t-shirt here at school, they are more than welcome to wear a tie dye or neon colored t-shirt from home. We look forward to a bright, colorful kick-off to the new year with our students.
Please do not forget that Monday, January 3rd is a Late Start day. School begins at 9:10 am and students are permitted into the building starting at 8:55 am. For your reference, please click HERE for the Late Start bus information. You will see a Late Start tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

Estimadas familias de la Escuela Diamond Lake,
Nuestras últimas semanas antes de las vacaciones de invierno trajeron un clima inusualmente cálido y grandes celebraciones. Cada nivel de grado experimentó nuestro Día de la Operación Bola de Nieve, una oportunidad para interactuar con estudiantes de múltiples clases, participar en conversaciones que inviten a la reflexión relacionadas con las relaciones con los compañeros y la resolución de problemas, crear una atmósfera de amabilidad y respeto, y aprender que las cosas que hacemos diferentes son las que nos hacen bellos individuos. Estamos increíblemente orgullosos de nuestros estudiantes por el apoyo que se mostraron unos a otros, los cumplidos que se dieron, sus amables palabras y las interacciones positivas a través de una variedad de actividades.
Cuando regresemos de las vacaciones de invierno el lunes 3 de enero, les pedimos a todos los estudiantes que usen sus camisetas con teñido anudado que hicieron en la Operación Bola de nieve en un esfuerzo por comenzar el año nuevo con una actitud positiva y para recordarnos cómo debemos ser amables con cada uno a los demás y tratarse unos a otros con respeto. Si su hijo no se tiñó una camiseta con teñido anudado aquí en la escuela, es más que bienvenido a usar una camiseta teñida con teñido anudado o una camiseta de color neón de casa. Esperamos un comienzo brillante y colorido para el nuevo año con nuestros estudiantes.
No olvide que el lunes 3 de enero es un día de inicio tarde. La escuela comienza a las 9:10 am y los estudiantes pueden ingresar al edificio a partir de las 8:55 am.
