Dear D76 Families and Staff,
I hope this finds you safe, healthy and well. As you know the State of Illinois is under an Executive Order for Tier 3 Mitigation under Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan, click here for more details which means more restrictions are in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This being our current reality and a rapidly changing situation, I wanted to update you with some important dates and next steps for the 2nd trimester:
Key Terms: Distance Learning Academy (DLA) ; In-Person Learning (IPL)
Key Dates:
12.21.20-1.1.21: Winter Break-all school buildings closed
1.4.21-1.29.21: 2nd trimester begins-DLA will continue
All students will work remotely
All staff will work remotely (*IF/WHEN Tier 3 Mitigation is lifted, a separate communication will be shared with potential next steps for staff to return to the schools/building)
1.4.21: Early Release Day for students
1.18.21: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (no school-students and staff)
1.19.21:
2.1.21-3.19.21: Continue with 2nd Trimester Learning Platform
1) DLA only; OR
2) Both IPL and DLA
Once the Governor Lifts the Executive Order of Tier 3 Mitigation (this date has not yet been determined):
*Staff will work from school/district IF/WHEN safe to do so
Resume Facilitated Distance Learning Academy (FDLA) IF/WHEN safe to do so
Parent Survey will be distributed to indicate a Declaration of Intent: whether you choose to continue with DLA or begin IPL
We will continue to provide DLA for the remainder of the school year for families who choose not to have their children return to IPL
We will continue to follow ALL state and local guidance (ISBE, CDC, IDPH, LCDPH) and prioritize everyone’s health, safety and well-being in ALL of our plans. We will also continue to communicate in a timely and transparent manner once all plans and details can be finalized. Please review the Return to School Roadmap and FDLA Guidelines for the safety, sanitation and program procedures and guidelines.
Thank you for your support, flexibility and patience during these challenging times. Best wishes for a wonderful holiday with loved ones and for continued good health, peace and prosperity in the New Year!
