Dear Diamond Lake Families,

This is the last update for 2020!  It is hard to believe how much we have accomplished as a school community since the first day of school.  Although we know that we will continue to have some challenges ahead as the school year continues, together we have proven that we are able to make unforeseen adjustments and continue to move forward.  I am sincerely impressed by our students, families and staff.  I am truly proud of how much we have learned and accomplished.

When we return to school on January 4th, which is an early release day, our current schedules will remain the same.  We will continue with our Distance Learning Academy throughout January and we hope that we will be able to reopen Facilitated Distance Learning Academy if the guidelines from state and local authorities indicate that it is safe to return. Dr. Sharma-Lewis often shares updates with families about returning to school, so please continue to read the letters and information that you receive from the District office.

In order to prepare for a combination of in person learning and virtual learning happening simultaneously, we will need to make some adjustments to our schedules.  Our goal is that beginning February 1st, we stretch our instructional time into the afternoon.  Students will continue to have specials in the afternoon, but we are also planning to have instructional time with teachers so that our daily schedule closely matches a traditional school day.

More information will be shared with you when we return in January.  It will be time to reassess reading and math skills so that we can celebrate the growth that are students have made since the beginning of the year. Our kids have been working so hard and we can’t wait to see how much they have learned!

Diamond Lake School Information and Events

Estimados padres de Diamond Lake,

¡Esta es la última actualización del año 2020!  Es difícil creer cuánto hemos logrado como comunidad escolar desde el primer día de clases. Aunque sabemos que seguiremos teniendo algunos desafíos por delante a medida que avanza el año escolar, unidos hemos demostrado que somos capaces de hacer ajustes imprevistos y seguir avanzando. Estoy sinceramente impresionada por nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal.  Estoy realmente orgulloso de lo mucho que hemos aprendido y logrado.

Cuando regresemos a la escuela el 4 de enero, que sera dia de salida temprana, nuestro horario actual será igual. Continuaremos con nuestra academia de aprendizaje a distancia durante todo el mes de enero y esperemos ser capaz de reabrir la  academia de aprendizaje a distancia facilitada si las guías del estado y autoridades locales indican que es seguro para regresar. Dra.Sharma-Lewis a menudo comparte actualizaciones  con familias sobre el regreso a la escuela, así que por favor sigan leyendo las cartas y la información que reciben de la oficina del distrito. 

Para prepararnos para una combinación de aprendizaje virtual y en persona que pasará simultáneamente, nosotros necesitaremos hacer reajustes a nuestros horarios. Nuestra meta es que al principio de febrero, estiramos nuestro tiempo de instrucción hasta la tarde. Los estudiantes continuarán teniendo especiales en la tarde, pero también estamos planeando tener tiempo de instrucción con los maestros para que nuestro horario sea lo más cercano al horario tradicional. 

Más información será compartida con ustedes cuando regresemos en enero. Será tiempo para reafirmar lecturas y habilidades de matemáticas para que podamos celebrar el crecimiento que los estudiantes han hecho desde el principio del año. Nuestros niños han trabajado muy duro y no podemos esperar a ver cuánto han aprendido!
