Happy Holidays from WOIS!!

The staff of West Oak Intermediate School would like to wish all of you a happy, safe, and healthy Holiday Season!!  We miss you all and can’t wait to have you back in person.  Happy New Year, and here’s to 2021!!!


District Update for Remote and In Person Learning

Last night you received a communication from the District providing a timeline of how we will go forward with learning.  You can read that communication here.  Below is information specific to West Oak Intermediate School  :

1.4 School Resumes, Distance Learning Resumes with current schedule.

1.18 No School (Martin Luther King Day)

1.19 No School (Remote Planning Day)

1.20 School Resumes New Distance Learning Schedule

    Why a new schedule?

  • The new schedule allows for consistent instruction throughout the entire school day

  • This schedule is able to be followed whether or not a student is in person or remote

  • If we were to have to switch between any of the formats (Remote, In Person, or Hybrid) throughout the year, the schedule will not have to change.

    The new schedule will be released to all families in January, prior to 1.20.2021

12.21    Winter Break Begins

1.4    School Resumes

1.4    Early Release (11:30 Dismissal)

1.18    Dr. Martin Luther King Day (No School)

1.19    Remote Learning Planning Day (No School)

1.20    New WOIS Full Day Schedule Begins for Distance Learning Academy


District 76 News

SEL Committee Updates

Diamond Lake School District’s Social-Emotional Committee is continuing with its December theme of bullying prevention. This month they are working to educate our students on what is bullying, what are the effects of bullying, what to do to prevent it, and how to respond when it does happen. They would also like to give parents resources on ways to be proactive about addressing bullying before incidents occur and to also give resources when it does happen. Please review the following article by U.S. News on the topic. Lunch Service

District 76 is providing a no cost lunch service for students.  You will need to order online on our Food Service webpage linked here.  Curbside pick-up is from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Tuesday and Friday at the West Oak Campus.

Actualización del Distrito para Aprendizaje Remoto y Aprendizaje en Persona

Anoche recibió una comunicación del Distrito proporcionando una línea de tiempo de como será el siguiente paso de aprendizaje.  Usted puede leer el comunicado aquí.  Abajo está la información específica a La Escuela Intermedia de West Oak:

1.4 Regreso a Clases, Aprendizaje a Distancia resumirá con el horario actual. 

1.18 No Hay Escuela (Día de Martin Luther King)

1.19 No Hay Escuela (Día de Planificacion Remota) 

1.20 Regreso a Clases Nuevos Horarios de Aprendizaje a Distancia 

    ¿Por qué hay un nuevo horario? 

  • El nuevo horario permite una instrucción constante durante todo el día escolar. 

  • Este horario es creado para poder seguir las clases en persona o remotamente. 

  • Si tuviéramos que cambiar entre cualquiera de los formatos( Remoto, En Persona, o Híbrido.) a lo largo del año, el horario no tendrá que cambiar.

    El nuevo horario se dará a conocer a todas las familias en Enero, antes del 1.20.2021




Fechas Importantes:

12.21    Vacaciones de invierno empiezan (No hay clases)

1.4    Regreso a clase

1.4    salida temprana (11:30l)

SEL Committee Updates

El Comité de Aprendizaje Socioemocional del Distrito Escolar Diamond Lake continúa con su tema de diciembre de prevención de bullying. Este mes están trabajando para educar a nuestros estudiantes sobre qué es el bullying, cuáles son los efectos del bullying, qué hacer para prevenirlo y cómo responder cuando sucede. También asesorar a los padres de una manera productiva acerca del bullying antes que incidentes ocurran y también brindar recursos cuando suceda.
