Hello Diamond Lake School Families,

The safety of students, parents, and staff is our priority.  Within the next week, the students and staff in conjunction with The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a law enforcement (lockdown) drill.  The purpose of a lockdown is to secure the exterior of the building preventing individuals from entering or exiting, and ensures the safety of others by placing them in secure areas in the building limiting their movement.  We believe the more we practice on how to react to stressful situations, the safer our students and staff will be. The drill will be conducted in a “walk-through” format where students and staff are given directions and rationale for the drill via intercom.  We will also incorporate A.L.I.C.E. during the drill. Hola Familias de la Escuela Diamond Lake,

Nuestra prioridad es la seguridad de los estudiantes, los padres y el personal. Dentro de la próxima semana, los estudiantes y el personal junto con la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake llevarán a cabo un simulacro de aplicación de la ley (cierre). El propósito de un cierre es asegurar el exterior del edificio evitando que las personas entren o salgan, y garantiza la seguridad de los demás al colocarlos en áreas seguras en el edificio limitando su movimiento. Creemos que cuanto más practiquemos sobre cómo reaccionar ante situaciones estresantes, más seguros estarán nuestros estudiantes y el personal. El simulacro se llevará a cabo en un formato "guiado" donde los estudiantes y el personal reciben instrucciones y fundamentos para el simulacro a través del intercomunicador. También incorporaremos ALICE durante el simulacro. Puede encontrar más información sobre ALICE en www.alicetraining.com. Es nuestra expectativa que el simulacro se realice con la menor cantidad de interrupción posible a las rutinas diarias.
