September 13, 2019: Diamond Lake School Weekly Update

September 13, 2019

Hello Diamond Lake School Families,

Thank you so much for working with us to provide safe and efficient arrival and dismissal procedures! We are still in the “settling in” stage of our new routine and I would like to take a moment to highlight a few details relating to transportation:

  • The bus arrival/drop off time for your bus stop is an APPROXIMATE time.  Please allow a 5 minute window for the bus to be early or late, or a 10 minute window of time for the bus to arrive.  Although our amazing bus drivers try to be exact, traffic does not allow it and sometimes the buses may be a few minutes earlier than expected and other times they might be a few minutes later.

  • Our Diamond Lake buses are the same buses that are used at West Oak Intermediate and West Oak Middle Schools.  Therefore, we are not able to bring children that do not have an adult waiting for them back to Diamond Lake School and the drivers do not have time to circle around to go back to an original stop.  If there is not an adult waiting at the bus stop, you will be directed to go to West Oak Intermediate School to pick up your child.

  • If you would like an adult other than a parent to take your child off the bus after school, please send a note to me with the person’s name that will be meeting your child at the bus stop.

  • 2nd Graders Only:  We realize many 2nd grade students are independent and can manage getting off the bus and walking a short distance to their home.  If you have a 2nd grade student and would like him/her to be able to get off of the bus without an adult waiting, please send a note to me so that I can review the request with the bus driver.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions,

Dr. Fredericks

Dr. Fredericks
