Kindergarten Screening 2020-21

Dear Incoming Kindergarten Families,

When we met for Kindergarten Orientation last February, it was impossible to foresee all of the changes that would have been suddenly made to our school system.  We were excited to be meeting so many District 76 families for the first time and we had plans to spend time with your children to get to know him or her and to help our young students get excited about starting Kindergarten.  Obviously, plans changed but now that we are getting ready to return to school in August we would like to invite your child to Kindergarten screening:

  • WHO: All students that are expected to begin Kindergarten in August of 2020, either in person or through Distance Learning and have not participated in a District 76 preschool program.
  • WHAT: Kindergarten Screening; a quick introduction to our Kindergarten team while having each child participate in a few activities that allows the team to peek at his/her school readiness and language skills
  • WHEN: August 4, 2020
  • WHERE: Diamond Lake School
  • HOW: A school representative will be calling you to schedule your appointment

Please note that during our the screening process we will be following the Phase 4 Public Health Requirements which include:

  • The use of personal protective equipment including face coverings

  • A limitation of the number of people gathering in one space

  • Requiring social distancing to the maximum extent possible

  • Requiring symptom screenings and temperature checks before entering the building

During this unprecedented time in history, we understand if you are reluctant to come to school with your child in person.  If you have concerns and would like to share them or if you have any other questions, please contact me directly at [email protected] or (440) 462-6624.

We are looking forward to spending time with you and your child!

Sincerely

Dr. Fredericks
