Dear Diamond Lake School (DLS) Families,
As we wrap up our Community Cuddles project for the 2021-2022 school year, Art Teacher Jenna Downing and Music Teacher Jake Hackl put together this great video for you. From DLS students and staff, this is our way of saying thank you for all your love and support as we returned to school, reestablished routines, and continued down our post COVID path to both academic and social emotional excellence. Students came home today with their final report card for the school year. Please be sure to review and discuss the report card with your child. It is always encouraging to celebrate your child’s growth and achievements and identify areas for improvement. This is also a great way to determine what skills your child should practice while home over the summer. Also, please be aware that your child’s final STAR test scores will be sent to you electronically on Friday, June 3rd.

2022-2023 DLS K-2nd Registration
If you have students returning to DLS or transferring over to West Oak Campus, you have received communication from the district containing the necessary Snapcode that you will need to register your child. If you have a child who will be starting Kindergarten this August, you can also receive a Snapcode for your child by completing the pre registration.
It is incredibly important that students are registered in our system as soon as possible. By registering your child, we are able to plan for the upcoming school year, screen students as needed, and place them in the appropriate classroom. 2022-2023 Little Diamonds Preschool
Our early childhood program is also new and improved! Little Diamonds Early Learning Program is a play based program that gives children ages 3 and 4 years old by September 1st the opportunity to engage with other children and strengthen social, emotional, and language skills. Click HERE for more information about our program. Please contact our front office to register your child for a preschool screening time. Screenings must be conducted first for preschool in order to start the registration process.
Parent University
The SEL Committee is continuing to work towards finishing this year strong and have already started their work in planning for the upcoming school year. Please complete this short survey to offer the committee some insight into what type of subjects you would like to see presented during next year's Parent Universities. Thank you in advance for your time with this. The SEL Committee looks forward to continuing its outreach to parents and the community this fall.
In closing, I would like to thank the DLS community for welcoming me this year. It was wonderful to meet all of you and work closely with you to provide the strongest connection and support system between home and school. It has been an absolute privilege to work with you and your children. I look forward to continuing our work together in the 2022-2023 school year, and I wish our soon-to-be 3rd Graders all the best at West Oak Intermediate School (WOIS). I know your children are going to absolutely love working with the WOIS staff and Principal Kurt Preble. WOIS is a dynamic team of educators and leaders.

Los estudiantes llegaron a casa hoy con su boleta de calificaciones final del año escolar. Asegúrese de revisar y discutir la boleta de calificaciones con su hijo. Siempre es alentador celebrar el crecimiento y los logros de su hijo e identificar áreas de mejora. Esta también es una excelente manera de determinar qué habilidades debe practicar su hijo mientras está en casa durante el verano. Además, tenga en cuenta que los puntajes finales de la prueba STAR de su hijo se le enviarán electrónicamente el viernes 3 de junio.

Universidad de Padres
El Comité SEL continúa trabajando para terminar este año con fuerza y ya ha comenzado su trabajo de planificación para el próximo año escolar. Complete esta breve encuesta para ofrecer al comité una idea de qué tipo de temas le gustaría ver presentados durante las Universidades para Padres del próximo año. Para terminar, me gustaría agradecer a la comunidad de DLS por darme la bienvenida este año.
