Dear Diamond Lake School (DLS) Families,
We wrapped up our Community Cuddles field trips yesterday and it was awesome! Camden Shipway, Quinn Kurzawski, Beckham Foster, Elsie Dover, Donovan Winston, Kenny Brophy, Veronica Kirbach, Israel Ibarra, Lilly Kurgan, and Mohit Mukherjee had a great time with both our local and our county community helpers who were incredibly warm and welcoming. They were very humbled to receive the beautiful Thank You cards from our students, took us on tours, and provided our students with really special learning opportunities. Mundelein Fire Department gave us a full tour of the firehouse, allowed us on the trucks, and Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg was there to greet our students, award them with their badges, and make them official Junior Deputies. Community Cuddles video producer, Social Worker Kara Kazuk, snapped all our photos and put THIS great video together for us! Enjoy!
Our Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) Team is continuing their work with our students and staff regarding the important practice of being respectful, responsible, and safe. Establishing routines in our classrooms, ensuring high expectations, teaching students how to problem solve, and learning how to self monitor one’s feelings have continuously improved this year. On the academic side, our Intervention Team continues to work with students and to provide intense support. Many of the strategies and practices that they use are helpful for all students. From strengthening Reading and Writing skills to Math skills, the work of the Intervention Team is beneficial to incorporate in your at home practice and review with your child. Finally, for the second time this year, DLS had the most families participate in the D76 Parent Engagement Survey. As a result, DLS wins their very own Ice Cream Party! On behalf of staff and students, we deeply appreciate your feedback and participation.

Summer Learning Registration
The District 76 Summer Learning Program is now open for registration. Please click on this link to register. Summer Learning will be held over two sessions. Session 1 will be held June 6th-June 30th, Monday through Thursday each week, from 8:00-11:30am. Session 2 will be held August 1st- August 12th, Monday through Thursday both weeks, from 8:00-11:30am. You will have the option to sign up for either session or both.
Summer STEAM Camp
Working in partnership with Mundelein High School, this summer a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) Camp is being offered to students 1st-9th Grade. Click HERE for more information on this innovative experience.
2022-2023 School Year Registration K-2nd
Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is underway! You should have received communication from the district containing the necessary Snapcode that you will need to register your children. If you have any questions about the process, please contact our front office. 847-566-6601.
Little Diamonds Early Learning Program
Our early childhood program is new and improved! This play based program gives children ages 3 and 4 years old by September 1st the opportunity to engage with other children and strengthen social, emotional, and language skills. Informational meeting on Wednesday, May 4th 6:00-7:00 pm at DLS.
Smile Dentist
Thursday, May 19th DLS will be welcoming Smile Dentist back to the building. If your child is in need of a dental cleaning, please be sure to complete the paperwork your child brought home by Thursday, May 12th. Our front office has extra copies of the printed forms or you may complete the online version by clicking HERE.

¡Terminamos nuestras excursiones de Community Cuddles ayer y fue increíble! Se sintieron muy honrados de recibir las hermosas tarjetas de agradecimiento de nuestros estudiantes, nos llevaron de gira y brindaron a nuestros estudiantes oportunidades de aprendizaje realmente especiales. El Departamento de Bomberos de Mundelein nos dio un recorrido completo por la estación de bomberos, nos permitió subir a los camiones y el alguacil del condado de Lake, John Idleburg, estuvo allí para saludar a nuestros estudiantes, premiarlos con sus insignias y convertirlos en oficiales subalternos. ¡La productora de videos de Community Cuddles, la trabajadora social Kara Kazuk, tomó todas nuestras fotos y armó ESTE gran video para nosotros! ¡Disfrutar!
Nuestro Equipo de Intervención y Apoyo para el Comportamiento Positivo (PBIS, por sus siglas en inglés) continúa su trabajo con nuestros estudiantes y el personal con respecto a la importante práctica de ser respetuoso, responsable y seguro. Establecer rutinas en nuestras aulas, garantizar altas expectativas, enseñar a los estudiantes a resolver problemas y aprender a controlar sus propios sentimientos ha mejorado continuamente este año. En el aspecto académico, nuestro Equipo de Intervención continúa trabajando con los estudiantes y brindando un apoyo intenso. Muchas de las estrategias y prácticas que utilizan son útiles para todos los estudiantes. Registro de escuela de Verano
El Programa de escuela de Verano del Distrito 76 está ahora abierto para registrarse. Haga clic en este enlace para registrarse. La escuela de verano se llevará a cabo en dos sesiones. La sesión 1 se llevará a cabo del 6 de junio al 30 de junio, de lunes a jueves cada semana, de 8 a 11:30am.
