Dear Diamond Lake School (DLS) Families,
Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is underway! If you have students returning to DLS or transferring over to West Oak Campus, you have received communication from the district containing the necessary Snapcode that you will need to register your child. If you have a child who will be starting Kindergarten this August, you can also receive a Snapcode for your child by completing the pre registration. It is incredibly important that students are registered in our system as soon as possible. By registering your child, we are able to plan for the upcoming school year, screen students as needed, and place them in the appropriate classroom. Our early childhood program is also new and improved! Little Diamonds Early Learning Program is a play based program that gives children ages 3 and 4 years old by September 1st the opportunity to engage with other children and strengthen social, emotional, and language skills. An informational meeting regarding our Little Diamonds Early Learning Program will be held on Wednesday, May 4th 6:00-7:00 pm at DLS.
District 76 is also excited to announce that we will be able to offer a Summer Dual Language Program! Diamond Lake School District is offering Dual Language for Summer Learning FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN DUAL LANGUAGE. Dual Language will be held during the first session of Summer Learning for all students currently in K-7th grade, and offered during the second session for grades 2nd-7th. Dual Language classes will be grouped in grade level clusters. Dual Language will be taught as K-1st, 2nd-4th and 5th-7th clusters. K-1st will only be available for Session 1. Grades 2nd-4th and 5th-7th will be taught both sessions. Class will be on Monday through Thursday, from 8:00-11:30 am. There is no school on Monday, June 20th. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SIGNED YOUR CHILD UP FOR SUMMER LEARNING AND WOULD RATHER ENROLL THEM IN DUAL LANGUAGE, PLEASE COMPLETE THIS FORM AND WE WILL REMOVE YOUR CHILD'S GENERAL EDUCATION SUMMER LEARNING REGISTRATION.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! May 2nd-May 6th we look forward to honoring and recognizing our staff for all of their hard work and dedication to our students and to our community. We will be celebrating with our General Education teachers, Specials teachers, Special Education teachers, Interventionists, and Learning Associates. Each of these groups of educators work with our students day in and day out to provide them with the best possible learning environments and experiences. Their commitment and dedication are what make D76 such a strong district and motivates our students to come back each day with their sparkly diamond smiles. In honor of our teachers, we will be hosting special lunches and breakfasts throughout the week and PTO needs your help! This week we also celebrated the great work of our Administrative Assistants, Lupe Flores and Josh Zamora, as well as our nurse, Alyssa King. Lupe, Josh, and Alyssa are the absolute foundation of our front office and we thank them for helping to keep the building running smoothly, assisting families, tending to students’ needs, constantly in contact with our bus company, and attending events in our building. We love how warm and welcoming they are, but most importantly, we appreciate their hard work and the incredible relationships they have built with our students.
Please do not forget that Monday, May 2nd is a Late Start day. School begins at 9:10 am and students are permitted into the building starting at 8:55 am. For your reference, please click HERE for the Late Start bus information. You will see a Late Start tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
Also, if your child participates in our Reading and/or Math After School program, please remember that the last day is this Thursday, May 5th.

Summer Learning Registration
The District 76 Summer Learning Program is now open for registration. Please click on this link to register. Summer Learning will be held over two sessions. Session 1 will be held June 6th-June 30th, Monday through Thursday each week, from 8:00-11:30am. Session 2 will be held August 1st- August 12th, Monday through Thursday both weeks, from 8:00-11:30am. You will have the option to sign up for either session or both.
Summer STEAM Camp
Working in partnership with Mundelein High School, this summer a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) Camp is being offered to students 1st-9th Grade. Click HERE for more information on this innovative experience.
Smile Dentist
Thursday, May 19th DLS will be welcoming Smile Dentist back to the building. If your child is in need of a dental cleaning, please be sure to complete the paperwork your child brought home by Thursday, May 12th. Our front office has extra copies of the printed forms or you may complete the online version by clicking HERE.

¡La inscripción para el año escolar 2022-2023 está en marcha! El distrito escolar de Diamond Lake ofrece clases de lenguaje dual para el aprendizaje de verano PARA ESTUDIANTES ACTUALMENTE INSCRITOS EN UNA CLASE DUAL. Las clases de lenguaje dual se llevarán a cabo durante la primera sesión de aprendizaje de verano para todos los grados K-7 y se ofrecerá durante la segunda sesión para los grados 2-7. Cada uno de estos grupos de educadores trabaja con nuestros estudiantes día tras día para brindarles los mejores entornos y experiencias de aprendizaje posibles. Su compromiso y dedicación son lo que hace que D76 sea un distrito tan sólido y motiva a nuestros estudiantes a regresar todos los días con sus brillantes sonrisas de diamantes. ¡En honor a nuestros maestros, ofreceremos almuerzos y desayunos especiales durante la semana y la PTO necesita su ayuda! Esta semana también celebramos el gran trabajo de nuestros Asistentes Administrativos, Lupe Flores y Josh Zamora, así como de nuestra enfermera, Alyssa King. Lupe, Josh y Alyssa son la base absoluta de nuestra oficina principal y les agradecemos por ayudar a mantener el edificio funcionando sin problemas, ayudando a las familias, atendiendo las necesidades de los estudiantes, en contacto constante con nuestra compañía de autobuses y asistiendo a eventos en nuestro edificio. Nos encanta lo cálidos y acogedores que son, pero lo más importante es que apreciamos su arduo trabajo y las increíbles relaciones que han construido con nuestros estudiantes.
No olvide que el lunes 2 de mayo es un día de inicio tardío. La escuela comienza a las 9:10 am y los estudiantes pueden ingresar al edificio a partir de las 8:55 am. Registro de escuela de Verano
El Programa de escuela de Verano del Distrito 76 está ahora abierto para registrarse. Haga clic en este enlace para registrarse. La escuela de verano se llevará a cabo en dos sesiones. La sesión 1 se llevará a cabo del 6 de junio al 30 de junio, de lunes a jueves cada semana, de 8 a 11:30am. La sesión 2 se llevará a cabo del 1 de agosto al 12 de agosto, de lunes a jueves ambas semanas, de 8 a 11:30am. Tendrá la opción de inscribirse en una sesión o en ambas.
Campamento STEAM de verano
En colaboración con Mundelein High School, este verano se ofrecerá un campamento de ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería, arte y matemáticas (STEAM, por sus siglas en inglés) a los estudiantes de 1° a 9° grado. Haga clic AQUÍ para obtener más información sobre esta innovadora experiencia.
