February 12: Diamond Lake School Weekly Update

Hello Diamond Lake School Families,

As we get ready to return to in person learning, there are a few details that parents need to be aware of when students are arriving to or being dismissed from Diamond Lake School:

Bus Rider Arrival:

• All students taking the bus are REQUIRED to wear a lanyard that certifies that the child is  healthy and able to attend school.  

• Bus pick-up times are not exact for various reasons, please expect the bus arrival time to vary by a few minutes either before or after the expected bus arrival time.

• Students will have their temperature checked as they are getting off of the bus before going into DLS.

Bus Rider Dismissal:

• Drop off times are estimates and parents should expect the drop off time to vary by a few minutes either before or after the expected time for a child to arrive home.

• A parent (or an adult that has been designated in advance and communicated with DLS) is REQUIRED to meet the child at the bus before the child is let off.

  • If a parent is not at the bus stop so that the child can be released from the bus, the child will be returned to Diamond Lake School and the parent will need to pick up the child.

• Students are only allowed to ride their assigned bus.  Students are not able to go home with other students for play dates.

• Second grade students may be allowed to get off of the bus and walk to his/her house independently if the parent has made the request, in writing, to Dr. Fredericks and the request is approved.  

Car Arrival and Morning Drop-Off Procedures begin at 7:25 AM:

• If you choose to drive your child to school, you MUST wait in your car in the drop-off arrival line in front of the building.

  • Parents will take their child out of the car seat

  • A staff member will take your child’s temperature

  • A staff member will lead your child into the building 

• Parents are not allowed to park and walk students into the building. 

• Cars are not allowed to pull into the large spaces in the middle of the parking lot; large spaces are reserved for buses only.

• Cars are NOT able to go around buses for any reason.  Again, cars must follow and wait in the arrival line.

Car Pick-Up and Dismissal Procedures begin at 2:25 PM:

• Do not arrive at DLS to pick up your child before 2:25 PM

  • The parking lot is closed to cars between 1:45 PM - 2:25 PM so that buses can get into place for dismissal.

• All buses will be loaded and dismissed prior to any students that are picked up in cars.

• Staff will bring students to cars once the buses leave.  

• Parents may not park/get out of their cars to pick up students between 1:45-2:25 PM.

• If you would like to pick up your child from school and he/she usually rides the bus; you must call the school office at 847-566-6601 before 1:00 PM in order to have the arrangements made.

Estimados padres de Diamond Lake,

A medida que nos preparamos para regresar al aprendizaje en persona, hay algunos detalles que los padres deben conocer cuando los estudiantes llegan o salen de la escuela Diamond Lake:

Llegada del pasajero en autobús:

• Todos los estudiantes que toman el autobús están requeridos de traer el collar que certifica que el estudiante es saludable y puede atender la escuela. 

• Los horarios del autobús no están exactos por varias razones, por favor espera que el tiempo varíe unos minutos antes y despues de el tiempo expectativo. 

• Los estudiantes tendrán que tomarse la temperatura  cuando están bajando del autobús antes de entrar a DLS.

Salida de pasajero del autobús:

• Los horarios de despedida son estimados y los padres deben esperar que el tiempo varía unos minutos antes o después del tiempo esperado para que el estudiante llegue a casa. 

• Un padre (o un adulto que sea designado en avanzado y comunicado con DLS)es requerido de reunirse con el estudiante en el autobús antes que el niño se baje.

  • Si un padre no está en la parada del autobús el estudiante tendrá que regresar a la escuela de Diamond Lake y tendrán que recogerlo. 

•  A los estudiantes solo se les permite viajar en el autobús asignado. Los estudiantes no pueden ir a casa con otros estudiantes para jugar.

• A los estudiantes de segundo grado se les puede permitir bajarse del autobús y caminar a su casa de forma independiente si el padre ha hecho la solicitud, por escrito, al Dr. Fredericks y la solicitud es aprobada.

Los procedimientos de llegada y entrega de automóviles por la mañana comienzan a las 7:25 a.m:

• Si usted maneja su niño a la escuela, TIENE que esperar en su automóvil en la línea de llegada para dejar frente al edificio.

  • Los padres sacaran a su hijo del asiento del automóvil

  • Un miembro del personal tomará la temperatura de su hijo.

  • Un miembro del personal llevará a su hijo al edificio

• Los padres no están permitidos a estacionar y caminar al estudiante al edificio.

• Los carros no están permitidos a ponerse en el gran espacio en medio del estacionamiento; el gran espacio es reservado nomás para los autobuses.

• Los carros NO pueden rodear los autobuses en ningún momento. Otra vez, los carros deben seguir y esperar en la línea de llegada.

Los procedimientos de recogida y salida del carro empieza a las 2:25 PM:

• No llegue a DLS para recoger a su hijo antes de las 2:25 PM

  • El estacionamiento está cerrado a los carros  entre la 1:45 PM - 2:25 PM para que los autobuses puedan acomodarse para la salida de la escuela.

• Todos los autobuses serán cargados y despedidos antes que cualquier estudiante que sea recogido en automóvil.

• El personal llevará a los estudiantes a los carros cuando los autobuses se hayan ido. 

• Los padres no se pueden estacionar y salir de sus carros para recoger al estudiante entre la 1:45 PM- 2:25 PM.

• Si usted quiere recoger a su hijo de la escuela y normalmente usa el autobús; tiene que llamar a la oficina de la escuela al 847-566-6601 antes de la 1:00 PM en orden de tenerlo arreglado.
