Hello Students and Families of West Oak Middle School,
As students begin their Spring Break tomorrow, we hope they have an opportunity to rest and recharge for our final stretch of the school year. Please remember that we will be having an Early Dismissal today with school ending at 11:55 for our Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences. Also, as we return from Spring Break on Monday, April 3rd, we will be having a Late Start with school beginning at 10:00am. Here is our bus document for your reference on both of these days. Please review the following pieces of information and feel free to contact the Main Office if you have any questions.
Conferences Tonight: We are asking that all parents BRING their child to conferences today. During this time, we will ask students to show and present on their Student Target Portfolios that they have been putting together since January. We are all looking forward to seeing and connecting with all of you soon!
8th Grade Save the Dates: Please review the following poster for important dates and times of upcoming events for our 8th graders this spring.
8th Grade Dance: Calling all parents that would like to help plan and set up this year’s 8th grade dance. The dance is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th, for all of our graduating 8th grade students. If you would like to help, please contact Lisa Crenshaw at [email protected].
Rental Assistance: Anyone interested, and in need of rental assistance, please visit this link and complete the application before April 14th.
SMILE Dentist: The SMILE dentist is coming to the West Oak Campus on April 19th. Please complete the registration form and return to the school nurse if interested. Contact Julie Marchese at 847-388-2599 with any questions.
PTO Fundraiser: Our wonderful PTO is holding their March fundraiser at Buddyz Pizza today, 3/23. Here are the flyers for more information. English/Spanish We hope to see you there!
PTO Website: Our Parent/Teacher Organization has updated their website so that students and families are able to see their calendar of events, their Executive Board, approved grants, and their meeting minutes. They are always welcoming of new members and encourage parents to get involved. They would love to see you join in on the great things they are doing for each of our district’s schools.
Occupational Therapy: Please review the following letter from our Occupational Therapist. Mrs. Lempa is sharing a variety of activities that you can do with your child during Spring Break. Here are the following activities based upon the school that your child attends. DLS/WOIS/WOMS
Summer Camp: Innovation Learning will be holding a summer camp while our students are out on break this year. Registration opens on April 3rd. Here are the flyers for more information. English/Spanish
District 120 Referendum: Please review the following letter detailing the upcoming referendum of Mundelein High School District 120.
Boys Volleyball: Our next sports season is coming up soon. Any boys interested in playing volleyball are invited to try out after school in our Main Gym on April 3rd and 4th. Here is a letter from the coaches that gives more information on what they will need, the times of their practices, and the dates and times of their games. Coach Enriquez and Coach Groshek hope to see a great turn out as they are excited to start the season soon.
Track and Field: Here is the letter if your child would like to go out for Track and Field this spring. Although they have already started, students are still encouraged to join. Please reach out to Coach Grubb and Coach Carr if you have any questions.
Summer Learning: The District 76 Summer Learning Program is back! General Education and Dual Language Summer Learning will take place over one session and will be held June 12-June 30, Monday through Friday each week, from 8-11:30am. Here is the registration form if you are interested.
Mundelein Building Tours: Mundelein High School building visits are being offered throughout the upcoming spring. Please complete this form if you would like to schedule a time to learn about their building and what they have to offer students and families.
8th Grade Tributes: Attention 8th grade families, you have the opportunity to write your 8th grade student a tribute for our yearbook. This special message, along with a baby photo, will be published in the 22/23 yearbook. Take a look before your chance is gone! This opportunity goes through February or until space is full. Voleibol de niños:Nuestra próxima temporada deportiva se acerca pronto. Todos los niños interesados en jugar voleibol están invitados a probar después de la escuela en nuestro gimnasio principal el 3 y 4 de abril.
