Lock Down Drill

Halloween at WOIS
West Oak Intermediate School will hold Halloween activities on October 31st. Halloween is also an early release day, so please see the schedule below. The PTO will be providing a snack during our activities, so please do not send any treats on this day.
Students are allowed to come to school in their costumes to school as all Halloween activities will take place in the morning.
Masks are allowed for the parade, but may not be worn over the child’s face inside the school. Face concealing paint/make-up is not allowed.
Please keep blood and gore to a minimum.
9:30am All School Parade
Parents, please park in the parking lot where there is room, we will park as many staff in the back as possible.
Good weather: Parents are invited to take photos of the parade. Please utilize the
blacktop area where the busses park or by the playground on the west end, the students will be using the
sidewalk.
Poor weather: Parents are invited to take photos of the parade, but will gather in the WOIS gym.
**Students who do not participate in Halloween activities will have a supervised activity in a designated classroom.
10:15am Grade Level Party Rotations
Parents who have volunteered for parties report to assigned locations. All other
parents are asked to return at 11:30am for dismissal if they are picking up their
child(ren).

Parking Lot Procedures
Please refer to the map to help guide you when dropping students off at school or visiting our campus:
Drop Off: Please follow the drop off loop to have students exit the vehicle by the sidewalk to walk to the WOIS front doors.
Pick-up: If you arrive prior to 2:55, please loop around the entire parking lot, and wait along the sidewalk. DO NOT exit your vehicle in this spot. If you arrive at dismissal time, please follow the same loop as for drop off. We will be staging the lead car along the sidewalk up toward the Middle School entrance.
Every Day Pick-Ups: Identify yourself and the student you are picking up by having your designated number visible. We will release your student to you. DO NOT leave vehicle unattended in the pick-up line. Please remain in a single file line, and DO NOT call for your student to come to your car. We require students to remain on the blacktop/sidewalk until staff load them into the vehicle.
Call-in Pick-Ups: Call in to school to provide the name of the person picking up the student, as we will ask for a photo ID. The pick-up supervisor will ask for the ID. Children will not be released to anyone not on the list or without a photo ID.
Walkers: All designated walkers will have a tag to identify that they are not being picked up or taking the bus.
Call-in Walkers: Call in to school to inform the office that your student will be walking home that day. We will provide a temporary walking tag for the day.
YOU MUST CONTACT THE OFFICE BY 12:30PM THE DAY OF TRANSPORTATION CHANGE.
Students arriving after 8:00am or being picked up before 2:55 will need to be signed in/out in the office.
Visitors: If you are parking to visit the West Oak Campus, dropping off a student late, or picking up a student early, please park in one of our designated VISITOR parking spaces
Bus drop off and pick-up will take place at the west end of the campus. Please do not drive your vehicle past the drop-off loop during arrival and dismissal times
Lunch Program
We have partnered with Quest Food Services for our hot lunch program. If you’d like to order, please click here
for information. If you need help setting up an account or with the ordering process, please call or stop by the
WOIS office and we will be happy to help. Lunches need to be ordered at least 3 days in advance and can be
ordered up to 30 days in advance.
We currently do not have microwaves available in the WOIS lunchroom. Please order lunch through our online meal ordering program, or send your child with a cold lunch that does not need to be heated. Should our microwave status change, you will be updated.
Health Office Visits
In an effort to increase communications with families, we will begin sending home Health Office Visit notifications. Any child visiting the Health Office will have a notification form sent home with them that day.
Text and Email Notifications
We frequently send out information from West Oak Intermediate School and District 76 through text and email. Please make sure that we have your updated contact information so that you receive important bus updates, school announcements and news from the District.

Parent Survey
Beginning Monday, 10.7, your child’s teacher will be sending home a communication survey either by hard copy or Class Dojo. We are using the information on this survey to find out the easiest way for you to receive notifications from school. Your participation is very much appreciated. Planes de Halloween para WOIS
La Escuela West Oak Intermediate va a tener actividades de Halloween el 31 de Octubre. Halloween también es dia de salida temprana, favor de ver el plan abajo. EL PTO va a proveer una merienda durante las actividades, favor de no mandar golosinas.
Se les permite a los estudiantes venir a la escuela con sus disfraces ya que todas las actividades de Halloween se llevarán a cabo en la mañana.
Mascaras son permitidas en el desfile, pero no deben de usar las máscaras dentro de la escuela. No se permite Pintura que oculta la cara.
Favor de mantener la sangre derramada a un mínimo.
9:30 am Desfile de toda la Escuela
Padres, favor de estacionarse en el estacionamiento (el personal se va estacionar atras para hacer mas campo para ustedes).
Buena clima: Los padres están invitados a tomar fotos del desfile. Favor de utilizar la entrada donde se estacionan los autobuses, los estudiantes van a estar usando la banqueta.

**los estudiantes que no participen en la actividades de Halloween tendrán otra actividad supervisada en un cuarto designado.
10:15am Rotaciones de Fiestas por nivel de grado.
Los padres que han sido voluntarios para fiestas se reportan a su lugar asignado. Todo los otros padres se les pide que regresen a las 11:30 am para la salida de la escuela si es que los van a recoger a su hijo.

Procedimiento de estacionamiento
Por Favor refiérase al mapa para ayudarle cuando deje a los estudiantes en la escuela y cuando venga a visitar nuestro nuevo campus.
Instrucciones de horario de entrada: Por favor siga la curva para que los estudiantes salgan del vehículo hasta las puertas de la entrada West Oak Intermediate.
Estudiantes que van a hacer recogidos todos los días: si usted llega antes de las 2:55, favor , Por favor siga la la curva completa en el estacionamiento, y espere a lo largo de la banqueta. Por favor NO salga de su vehículo en este lugar. Si usted llega a la hora de salida, favor de seguir la misma curva como en la mañana. Vamos a estar acomodando los carros a lo largo de la banqueta hacia la entrada de la escuela secundaria.
Estudiantes que van a hacer recogidos todos los días:identifiquese a usted mismo y al estudiante que está recogiendo haciendo visible su número asignado. Nosotros le llevaremos a el estudiante a su vehículo. Por favor NO deje a su vehículo desatendido en la línea.
Favor de mantenerse en una sola fila, y NO llame a su hijo que vaya a su carro. Requerimos que los estudiantes se mantengan en la banqueta hasta que nuestro personal los llueva al carro.
Si va a pasar por su estudiante a la hora de salida: Por favor de llamar a la escuela y dar la información de la persona que va a pasar por su estudiante. Vamos a requerir una forma de identification. Los niños NO se podrán ir con nadie que no esté en la lista o que no muestre identificación.
Niños que van a caminar a la escuela diariamente: Todos los estudiantes que caminen a la escuela tendrán una identificación para identificarlos que no irán a casa en el autobús o van a ser recogidos en la escuela.
Estudiantes que viven cerca de la escuela: Si su hijo se va ir caminando por favor de avisar a la oficina. Le daremos a el estudiante un pase identificando que caminara a su casa ese dia.
POR FAVOR DE CONTACTAR A LA OFICINA ANTES DE LAS 12:30 DE LA TARDE PARA REPORTAR EL CAMBIO DE TRANSPORTE
Estudiantes que lleguen a las 8:00am o más tarde o que pasen por ellos antes de las 2:55 de la tarde tendrán que pasar a la oficina para firmar por ellos.
Visitantes: Si se va a estacionar para visitar el campus de West Oak, dejar a el estudiante tarde, o pasar por el estudiante antes del horario de la salida, por favor de estacionarse en los espacios asignados VISITANTE. .
Los autobuses estarán estacionados en el extremo oeste de la West Oak. Por favor no conduzca su vehículo más allá de la curva de entrega durante los horarios de clases.
Programa de Almuerzo
Nos hemos asociado con el servicio Quest Food para nuestro programa de almuerzo. Si a usted le gustaría ordenar, favor de presionar aquí para más información. Si usted necesita ayuda para crear su cuenta o con el proceso de ordenar comida, favor de llamar o ir a la oficina de WOIS y con gusto le ayudaremos. El almuerzo debe de ordenarse con 3 días de anticipación y puede ordenar por 30 días.
Actualmente no tenemos microondas disponibles en la cafetería de WOIS. Favor de ordenar comida con nuestro programa de almuerzo en línea o mandarle a su hijo con un almuerzo frío que no necesita ser calentarse. Si llega a cambiar nuestro estatus de microondas, usted será actualizado.
Visitas a nuestra Oficina de Salud
En un esfuerzo de aumentar comunicación con nuestras familias, vamos a empezar a mandar a casa notificaciones de visitas a la oficina de salud. Cualquier estudiante que visite la oficina de salud, tendrá un formulario de notificación enviado a casa con ellos ese dia.
Notificaciones de Texto y Correo Electrónico
Frequentemente mandamos información de la escuela WOIS y el Distrito 76 por texto y correo electrónico. Favor de asegurarse de que tenemos su información de contacto más actualizado, para que usted pueda recibir actualizaciones importantes de los autobuses, anuncios de la escuela y noticas del Distrito.
