October 25, 2019: Diamond Lake School Weekly Update

Hello Diamond Lake School Families,

Halloween is next Thursday! I would like to share the details about the morning schedule for the day at Diamond Lake School.  Our students will arrive as they typically do and will have reading instruction from 7:45-8:30. At 8:30 AM, our students will line up for our traditional parade with our princesses, ghosts, and pirates showing off their costumes.  If we are able to be outside, the parade will go in front of the building (near the main entrance) and if we need to stay indoors, it will be in the gym and cafeteria. Parents are welcome to watch the parade and take as many pictures as they would like.  After the parade, parents can go home until the end of our shortened school day. School will be dismissed at 11:00 AM.

After the parade, students will go to the gym to be entertained by “The Juggler with the Yellow Shoes.”  A huge thank you to the PTO for providing Diamond Lake School with the entertainment!  After the performance, the students will go back to their classrooms for fun activities that are planned by the teacher and a hearty snack that is provided by District 76.  

Please send your child to school in his or her costume.  Please make sure face masks are sent in the backpack and that NO WEAPONS are sent to school.  Once again, parents are welcome to come to watch our costume parade, beginning at 8:30 AM.

Hola Familias de la Escuela de Diamond Lake, 

Halloween es el próximo jueves! Me gustaría compartir los detalles sobre el horario de la mañana para el día en la Escuela Diamond Lake. Nuestros estudiantes llegarán como suelen hacerlo y recibirán instrucción de lectura de 7:45-8:30. A las 8:30 a.m., nuestros estudiantes se alinearán para nuestro desfile tradicional con nuestras princesas, fantasmas y piratas mostrando sus disfraces. Si podemos estar afuera, el desfile irá al frente del edificio (cerca de la entrada principal) y si necesitamos permanecer en el interior, será en el gimnasio y la cafetería. Los padres pueden ver el desfile y tomar tantas fotos como quieran. Después del desfile, los padres pueden irse a casa hasta el final de nuestro día escolar. La escuela saldrá a las 11:00 a.m.

Después del desfile, los estudiantes irán al gimnasio para ser entretenidos por "The Juggler with the Yellow Shoes".  ¡Un enorme agradecimiento al PTO por brindarle entretenimiento a la Escuela de Diamond Lake! Después de la presentación, los estudiantes regresarán a sus aulas para actividades divertidas planificadas por el maestro y un refrigerio abundante proporcionado por el Distrito 76.  

Por favor envíe a su hijo a la escuela con su disfraz. Asegúrese de que se envíen máscaras faciales en la mochila y que NO SE ENVÍEN ARMAS a la escuela. Una vez más, los padres pueden venir a ver nuestro desfile de disfraces, que comienza a las 8:30 a.m.
