Student Material Pick-up Directions

Dear Families of West Oak Intermediate School,

From June 2nd through June 4th, we will be offering curbside pick-up of student belongings. Families will be designated a time slot during this window to receive materials as well as have the opportunity to drop off items. Families can only pick up their own child(ren)’s materials. Student desks and lockers will be emptied into labeled bags for each student. The entire contents of the locker will be included in the bag with the exception of any food items not stored in a lunch box/bag or materials belonging to WOIS. If you have already purchased a yearbook, those will be included in your child’s bag if they have been delivered to WOIS on time. Please look in your house for items that belong to WOIS and have those ready to drop off to WOIS. Please place those items in a bag labeled with your child’s name.

Possible Student Items Needed for Drop Off:
Library Books, Classroom books, Classroom Novels

Pick-up times are as follows:

All three days, June 2nd, 3rd and 4th, will follow the same schedule.

Last name A-L may pick-up from 11:00am until 1:00pm
Last name M-Z may pick-up from 1:00pm until 3:00pm

Due to the volume of students at the West Oak Campus and to ensure safety and efficiency, we ask that everyone follow these specific directions for pick-up and drop-off:

  • Enter the West Oak Campus and proceed to the end of the parking lot by the playground and begin to loop around to the check-in station at the west end of the building.
  • Remain in your car.  Cars will be approached by a WOIS staff member. This staff member will ask for the student(s) name and radio the building for their belongings. A Post-it note with the name will be applied to the passenger side window. Any items students are returning will be collected at this time.
  • Once checked-in, continue through the parking lot along the curb to the WOIS Main Entrance. WOIS staff will bring student’s materials to the car.
  • Materials will consist of the contents of the students desk and locker, any medication from the office (delivered directly to the parent by the health clerk or administrator) as well as a yearbook if purchased, and if the yearbooks have been delivered on time.
  • Once the collection process is completed, the parent will then either check-in at the Middle School if needed, or exit the parking lot at the east end of the campus.

Below is a map of the traffic pattern for the process

We have chosen this method of material return as we believe this is the best way to ensure the safety and health of our school community. The entire WOIS staff thanks you for your patience and understanding during this process. If you are unable to pick-up/drop-off your child(ren)’s belongings at the designated date/time or on the make-up day, please contact Kurt Preble at [email protected].
