No School Monday
There is no school this Monday in observance of Yom Kippur. School will resume at 8:00am on Tuesday, 9.29.
Teacher Google Websites
As a parent, you have access to your child’s Google Classroom. However, the information that you can access isn’t always what you want to see. WOIS teachers have developed a Google Sites page for you to view specific information about your child’s class. Just visit the staff directory, linked here, and view the teacher’s website by clicking on the link beneath their name.
Is Screen Brightness Giving Your Student a Headache?
Screen brightness/blue light is something that can cause fatigue with all of us during remote learning. Please view the links below for information on how to adjust the lighting on your various devices.

My Commitment to You
This is not the way we are used to starting the school year. I want to thank you all for your encouraging emails and phone calls. As we embark on the 2020-2021 school year, our main goal is to provide the most authentic education experience that we can without having students with us in person. We will be increasing the live instruction and engagement as well as curriculum delivery compared to what was executed in the spring. We will also be utilizing curriculum planning forward documents that allow each grade level to capture skills and standards that we didn’t approach during the 3rd trimester last year, while we incorporate skills and standards that are scheduled for the 1st trimester of this year. Additionally, we are striving to present a more streamlined online platform utilizing Google Classroom with less links for students to navigate. We will need to be flexible with scheduling and programming, during our remote learning, but WOIS is committed to providing the best learning experience for the students. After we begin the school year at the end of this month, I will schedule virtual “Coffee with the Principal” in order to keep you up to date with what we are doing, how well we are doing it, what is coming next, and have an opportunity for you to provide me with your feedback and ask questions. This continues to be new territory for all of us, but there is no other community and District that I’d rather experience this with.

Grade Level Supply Lists
Although we are beginning the year remotely, it will be beneficial to purchase school supplies, especially writing instruments, notebooks, markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc. Our commitment is to create the most authentic remote learning experience. In order to do this, students will need access to supplies. You can find the grade level student supply lists here.

Stevenson Move-A-Thon: Get Started and Get Moving!
Monday, October 5th – Monday, October 19th
The Stevenson Move-A-Thon is a fun, virtual way to keep moving and support students and families with limited resources. Walk, bike, run, dance, or play for 125 minutes or more each week of the event. Together, we can stay healthy and positively impact our Stevenson community.
Getting started is easy and we're here to help! Sign up as an individual, family, or socially-distant team. Move however, whenever, and wherever you like. In less than 20 minutes a day, you’ll reach your goal. Individuals who raise $125 or more will earn Move-A-Thon swag.

Mi compromiso a ustedes
Esta no es la manera en que estamos acostumbrados a comenzar el año escolar. Quiero decirles gracias a todos ustedes por sus correos electrónicos y llamadas telefónicas alentadores . A medida que nos embarcamos en el año escolar 2020-2021, nuestra meta principal es proveer la experiencia educativa más auténtica que podemos sin tener a los estudiantes en persona.
