Diamond Lake School News
Late Start Monday 4.8.2019
This Monday, 4.8.2019 will be a late start. All bus routes will pick up students approximately 90 minutes later than the regular pick-up time. Students being dropped off may begin to be dropped off at 9:10am. PLEASE do not drop off any students before 9:10 as we will not have supervision for them. View the late arrival bus schedule here.
Summer School Registration
Please make sure to return your child’s summer school registration to either your child’s teacher or the DLS office as soon as possible. If you need a new registration form, please stop by the office.
New Student Sign-In/Sign-Out
We have moved to an electronic sign-in/sign-out process for your child at Diamond Lake School. This electronic process will provide a more accurate record of students entering and leaving the building during the school day. We ask for your patience as this is a new process for everyone. If you need any assistance, our office staff will be available to help you.

Recess and Weather
As a reminder, unless it is raining, children are outside for recess as long as the temperature is at 15 degrees fahrenheit. Students are only allowed in for recess with a doctor’s note or to serve a consequence. Please send your child to school with the appropriate clothing for the weather. If you need a coat, let us know, or check out Someone’s Treasure Community Closet at West Oak Middle School, we’re happy to help out.
*Snow Play at Diamond Lake ~ Students will be allowed to play in the snow at recess as long as they have all of the following items on: Winter Coat, Snow Pants, Snow Boots, Gloves, Hat. If a child is missing any one of these items, they will not be allowed to play in the snow that day.
Health Office Visits
In effort to increase communications with families, we will begin sending home Health Office Visit notifications. Any child visiting the Health Office will have a notification form sent home with them that day.
Text and Email Notifications
We frequently send out information from Diamond Lake School and District 76 through text and email. Please make sure that we have your updated contact information so that you receive important bus updates, school announcements and news from the District.

Nut Allergy Restriction Reminder
Please remember that nuts and products made with nuts are not allowed at Diamond Lake School. Please make sure that these food items are not sent in with your child.

Bus Route Tracker (Updated 8.31)
Durham has shared with us that the bus tracker app is now operational. Please enter “Grayslake” for the city, as this is the city that the bus routes originate from. Your child’s ID number has been emailed to you. Using the email that is on file with the school office, we have sent your child’s ID number to be used in the app. If you did not receive your ID number, please update your email information with the school office. You can find information on the app here:

Dia de entrada tarde, 4.8.2019
Este lunes, 4.8.2019 va ser dia de entrada tarde. Todas las rutas de autobuses van a levantar a los estudiantes 90 minutos más tarde que la hora regular. Pueden empezar a dejar a los estudiantes en la escuela a las 9:10 am. Favor de no dejar a los estudiantes antes de las 9:10 ya que no habra supervision para ellos. Campamento de aprendizaje de verano 2019
Favor de regresar la forma de registración de su hijo para la escuela de verano, a su maestra o la oficina de DLS lo mas pronto possible. Si necesita una forma nueva, favor de parar en la oficina.
Nuevo Registro del alumno Entrada/Salida
Hemos cambiado a un proceso electrónico para su hijo de registro de alumno Entrada/Salida en la Escuela Diamond Lake. Este processo proveerá un récord más preciso de los estudiantes entrando y saliendo el edificio durante el horario de la escuela. Pedimos de su paciencia, ya que este en un proceso nuevo para todos. Si usted necesita asistencia, nuestro personal de la oficina estra disponible para ayudarlos.

Visita a la oficina de salud
En esfuerzo de incrementar la comunicación con las familias vamos a empezar a mandar a casa notificaciones de visitas a la oficina de salud. Cualquier niño que visite la oficina de salud tendrá una forma de notification que llevara a casa.
Recreo y Clima
Al Menos que esté lloviendo, los niños van a estar afuera para recreo, siempre y cuando la temperatura es de 15 grados fahrenheit. Los estudiantes solo se les deja quedarse adentro para recreo con una nota del doctor o una consecuencia severa. Favor de mandar a su hijo con ropa apropiada para el clima. Si necesita una chamarra, déjenos saber, o revise El Tesoro Comunitario de Alguien en la Escuela West Oak, estamos contentos en poder ayudar.
*Jugar en la nieve en la Escuela Diamond Lake ~ A los estudiantes se les permitirá jugar en la nieve durante recreo solo si tienen todos de los siguientes artículos: Chamarra de Invierno, pantalones de nieve,botas de nieve, Guantes, gorra. Si algún niño no tiene uno de estos artículos, no se les permitirá jugar en la nieve ese día.
