Hello Fairhaven Families,
Although we have been in school for a few days, we are still working out the best possible bus routes to serve our families. There has been a little confusion about the need to have an adult at a bus stop when children are being dropped off. If your child attends Fairhaven, an adult must be waiting to get him or her from the bus. Drivers will not allow Fairhaven students to get off the bus and walk to their home independently. If you have a child at Diamond Lake or West Oak, the students are able to exit the bus by themselves. We will be updating the bus schedules next week and will share the updates as soon as we have them.
There are so many exciting things going on in District 76! District 76 is going to be opening “Someone’s Treasure Chest” within the next few weeks. Someone’s Treasure Chest will be a community closet stocked with gently used clothes and household items that will be open to our families. Start spreading the word--in October “Top Box” will be coming to West Oak Middle School. Top Box is an organization that brings fresh produce and meats to our community once per month at a reasonable cost. This community service is open to anyone, whether or not they have a child attending D76 schools; therefore, please share this exciting addition with everyone. Next Wednesday, 8.30.17, is the first PTO sponsored dine out event. If you are new to District 76, throughout the year the PTO will be sponsoring “dine outs.” A dine out is simply ordering from the restaurant that has partnered with us in order to support our schools. When a family dines at the restaurant D76 receives a portion of the profit and the event is a fundraiser. Next Wednesday, our first dine out will be at Culver’s. The really fun part about the Culver’s dine out is that our staff members are the counter help and servers for the event! Please join us to make this a very successful event by coming to Culver’s for dinner between 5:00-8:00 PM!

Hola Fairhaven familias,
Aunque hemos estado en la escuela por pocos días, todavía estamos trabajando en las mejores posibles rutas de autobuses para servir a nuestras familias. Ha habido un poco de confusión acerca de la necesidad de tener un adulto en una parada de autobús cuando los niños están siendo dejados. Si su hijo asiste a Fairhaven, un adulto debe estar esperando a que él o ella del autobús. Los conductores no permitirán que los estudiantes de Fairhaven se bajen del autobús y caminar a su casa de forma independiente. Si usted tiene un niño en la Escuela de Diamond Lake o West Oak, los estudiantes pueden bajar del autobús por sí mismos.
Hay tantas cosas emocionantes que están sucediendo en el Distrito 76! Distrito 76 en las siguientes semanas abrirá “El Cofre de Tesoros de Alguien”. El Cofre de Tesoros de Alguien es un armario repleto de ropa que la comunidad poco a poco a donado con poco uso y artículos para el hogar que estarán abiertos a nuestras familias. Empiece a difundir la palabra - en Octubre “Box Top” vendra a West Oak Middle School. Miércoles, 8.30.17, es el primer patrocinio del PTO para el evento de cenar afuera. Si eres nuevo en el Distrito 76, durante todo el año el PTO será el patrocinador de “comer afuera.” Cenar fuera es simplemente ordenar del restaurante que se ha asociado con nosotros con el fin de apoyar a nuestras escuelas. Cuando una familia come en el restaurante D76 recibe una parte de la ganancia del evento y es para recaudar fondos. El próximo Miércoles, nuestro primer evento de cenar será en Culver. La parte realmente divertida de cenar fuera en Culver es que nuestros miembros del personal ayudaran en el mostrador servirán durante el evento! Por favor, únase a nosotros para hacer de este un evento muy exitoso al venir a Culver el evento es de 5: 00-8: 00 PM!
