School News:

West Oak’s Got Talent: Break a leg to all the students and staff performing in the talent show today. Matinee time is 3:45 - 5:00 pm with an evening performance beginning at 7:00 pm. Students may purchase tickets ($2.00 each) during lunch May 7-11. Program Flyer

Chromebook Collection: All students will be turning in their assigned Chromebook, charging cord, and carrying case on Tuesday, May 22. As per the technology agreement, students are responsible for properly maintaining the condition of the Chromebook as well as the charging cord and case. Students will receive a bill for replacement or damage upon turning them in. Parents are asked to check with their child to ensure he/she has the necessary items.

Actively Engaged: There are still two weeks left in the school year. It is the expectation that students are actively engaged in their learning. Parents are reminded to verify student progress via PowerSchool. Report cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, May 29. 8th Grade students will be issued report cards on Thursday, May 24.

Summer Lunch Program: The Northern Illinois Food Bank is offering free lunches Monday - Friday this summer to children 18 years old and younger. Informational Flyer:

8th Grade Dance: The 8th grade end of the year dinner and dance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23 @ 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Parents who are interested in assisting with the dinner and dance should contact one of the following parents:

Someone’s Treasure Community Closet will be open at West Oak Tomorrow: Please view information regarding this wonderful community outreach program.

Parking Lot: Parents are reminded when dropping students off in the morning all cars are to drive around the full length of the parking lot and follow in the drop-off lane next to the school. Cars may not pass buses when the stop arm is extended. Parents are to pick up students for dismissal time at the west end of the building behind the buses. To ensure the safety of all, students are not to walk through the parking lot to parental vehicles. Please do not park in the entrance lane near the soccer fields as this may cause unnecessary disruption to traffic flow. Thank you for your assistance with a smooth and safe process.

After-School Activity Buses:

Students staying after school for activities and athletics will be able to ride the activity bus home at two times: 4:30 and 5:00 pm. The activity bus runs the entire district and students may be on them for a longer time compared to their typical daily bus route.
