Fairhaven Families,
Would you like to spend time with your child to build his/her reading skills and help him/her learn to love books? You can do all three when you read aloud. Read to your child every day. Aim for 10-15 minutes of bedtime reading for a peaceful end to the day. Bring along a book, and read during a sibling’s sports practice or curl up together when you get home from work.
Your child may want to hear favorite stories again and again. Use your turn for new titles and variety, such as non fiction or poetry. Ask your child to turn the pages while you read. Also, have him or her finish sentences that rhyme or fill in the words she knows. Go slowly so your child has time to understand the story and look at the illustrations.
Reading to your child makes a huge difference in his or her educational progress. Take the time and do it everyday. The time together will help you to build a relationship and will also help your child learn to love reading!

Familias de Fairhaven,
Le gustaría pasar tiempo con su hijo/a para desarrollar sus habilidades de lectura y ayudarle a aprender a amar los libros? Usted puede hacer los tres cuando lea en voz alta. Léale a su niño todos los días. Trate de 10-15 minutos de lectura a la hora de dormir para un gran final pacífico del dia. Traiga un libro, y lea durante la práctica deportiva de un hermano o acurrucarse juntos al llegar a casa después del trabajo.
Es posible que su hijo quiera escuchar sus cuentos favoritos una y otra vez. Utilice su turno para nuevos títulos y variedades, como el de no ficción o poesía. Pregúntele a su niño a pasar las páginas mientras lee. También, que el o ella termine las frases que riman o rellenen palabras que ella conoce. Vaya despacio para que su hijo tenga tiempo para entender la historia y mirar las ilustraciones.
Leerle a su hijo hace una gran diferencia en su progreso educacional. Tómese el tiempo y hágalo todos los días. El tiempo juntos le ayudara a construir una relacion y tambien le ayudara a su hijo a aprender a amar la lectura!
