Hello District 76 Families I hope your children had a great first day of school.
We realize there were several delays with the busses this morning for pick-ups and this afternoon for drop offs. The district is working closely with Durham Bus Company to resolve the issues. The drivers are learning new routes and there are unforeseen delays with road construction/traffic. We apologize for the delayed pick-ups/drop offs that many of our students and families experienced today.
It is our goal that these issues will lessen in the next few days as drivers become more familiar with their routes and stops. Durham Bus Company has assured us that the drivers will leave earlier to start their routes so they can be on time for their 1st stops and also run practice routes during the next few days. Principals will text/email updates as information is made available to them if busses are late.
