School News: Parent Teacher Conferences: On Friday, February 16, Parent Teacher Conferences will be conducted from 10:00 - 6:00 at West Oak Middle School. Parents may schedule the conference with the grade level team(s) and Exploratory team through the District website: www.dist76.org. Students will be expected to attend and lead the conference. Please contact individual teacher regarding individual classes or questions.
STEAM Night: On February 15, students and parents are invited to attend STEAM Night at West Oak Middle School. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. This is open to all students and families of District 76. Please read the attached flyer.
Parent Night: Stand Up Mundelein and The Stand Strong Coalition will be conducting a parent night on February 22 @ 7:00 pm. The evening will focus on what parents can do to combat teen drug use. Informational Flyer

Parking Lot: Parents are reminded when dropping students off in the morning all cars are to drive around the full length of the parking lot and follow in the drop-off lane next to the school. Cars may not pass buses when the stop arm is extended. Parents are to pick up students for dismissal time at the west end of the building behind the buses. To ensure the safety of all, students are not to walk through the parking lot to parental vehicles. Please do not park in the entrance lane near the soccer fields as this may cause unnecessary disruption to traffic flow. Thank you for your assistance with a smooth and safe process.
MHS Ambassadors: On Thursday, March 1 starting at 6:30 pm, representatives from Mundelein High School will at West Oak presenting the high school experience at MHS. There will be presentations for parents and students. The meeting will take place in the school library.
Winter Weather: With winter weather soon approaching, please make sure your son/daughter dresses for the weather. It is suggested that students wear warm coats, hats, and gloves.
After-School Activity Buses: Students staying after school for activities and athletics will be able to ride the activity bus home at two times: 4:30 and 5:00 pm. The activity bus runs the entire district and students may be on them for a longer time compared to their typical daily bus route.

BPAC Meeting: The next BPAC meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 22, 7:00 - 8:30 pm. The meeting will be held at West Oak Middle School.
Kindergarten Orientation: Kindergarten orientation will be held at Fairhaven School on February 28th at 7:00 PM. Parents who will be having a child begin Kindergarten in August, 2018 are invited to a presentation about the kindergarten screening process and what to expect in kindergarten.
